In support of their new single The Grind, WA-founded rockers Thirsty Merc have announced they'll be hitting the road this April for a headline Aussie tour, appropriately titled, Back To The Grind.
Kicking off the tour in Canberra, the band will hit over 20 cities and towns across all the mainland states through to the end of May including Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Ballarat, Peninsula, Geelong, Sutherland, Wollongong, Newcastle, Byron Bay, Yamba, Brisbane, Alice Springs, Darwin and Ulladulla.
2015 was an incredibly tough year for the group who lost their stage manager in a fatal car crash last September, which also seriously injured their drummer.
However, lead singer Rai Thistlethwayte said the band are looking forward to the new tour.
"After a really hard time at the end of 2015, we've turned the corner into 2016 and we feel the best way to get on with things is to keep busy, keep working hard and do what we love: PLAYING LIVE! We're stoked with our new single too," Thistlethwayte said.
"It's got the Merc quirk, with grind-y guitars in the choruses, a swaggery tempo, it's a return to our rock roots. Back To The Grind is going to be an unforgettable tour, we can feel it. We'll be giving it our absolute ALL!"
Joining Thirsty Merc at select stops of the tour is none other than Melbourne trio, Tequila Mockingbyrd.
