123 Agency and Chapel Off Chapel have announced a huge line-up of Australia's most exciting and well-loved musicians for its first ever Chapel Summer Sessions series.

Chapel Summer Sessions will launch in January 2016 with two weeks of rare and intimate performances perfect for warm Melbourne nights, featuring a diverse array of artists.

Made famous by the classic Live at the Chapel television series, the space will host Powderfinger's Darren Middleton and Shihad's Jon Toogood for a one-off 'Intimate evening with' on Thursday 21 January. The tantalisingly stripped-back night of tunes from two of rock music's legends will be one for old and new fans alike. Middleton has called the creative hub of Melbourne home since Powderfinger played their last show in 2010. Here, the seeds were planted for his debut solo release 'Translations' and latest album 'Splinters'. Toogood is one of New Zealand's most talented frontmen and has a list of awards and achievements under his black leather belt to rival the industry's best.

Australia's favourite blues musician Ash Grunwald will have Prahran stomping its feet and music-lovers flocking to the south side on Friday 22 January. Always sure to whip the crowd into a frenzy with his charismatic live performances, Ash is sure to get the weekend off to a flying start. Playing tracks from his recently released album 'Now', including latest single 'Second Guess', the long-time local favourite has never been in more thunderous form.

One of the country's leading singer-songwriters Abbe May will take the floor on Saturday 23 January. The Best Female Artist ARIA award nominee and multi-instrumentalist's live shows are intense, provocative and charismatic. May is currently working on her highly-anticipated sixth studio album. This is a fantastic opportunity to see one of Australia's modern gems in a rare and intimate setting.

The Woodlock boys will take over the space on Saturday 30 January fresh from road-tripping up and down the east coast playing shows to packed out crowds off the back of three stellar EPs. New EP 'Sirens' is their most exciting release yet. You may have seen them busking on Melbourne's most famous corners, now check this exciting young band out at one of the city's most interesting live venues.

Chapel Summer Sessions is an exciting new series on the Yarra's south side that is sure to make Prahran the place to kick off 2016 with some great live music. Chapel Off Chapel and fellow locals 123 Agency are proud to present a specially-curated showcase of live music rarely seen in the vibrant Chapel St precinct. Local, live, and at a beautiful and intimate historic venue, this is a series not to be missed!
