GET READY FOR FALLS Only 18 sleeps until Falls kicks off! Before we take flight, start planning your getaways and make sure you’re ready for every occasion. Read below for important festival information and start getting excited! ................................................................ PARTY SAFE Falls is all about having a good time with your friends, listening to world-class music and starting off the new year in fine style. We want you to have an awesome time, but we also want you to be safe. Lately there have been too many tragic endings to music festivals around Australia. Don’t risk your life by taking drugs or drinking irresponsibly. If you or your friends have over indulged, head straight to one of our medical centres or chill out areas for help. No judgement – just help. Please – make it to 2016 in one piece. ................................................................ NO BYO ALCOHOL! As part of our festival permit to run Falls, we’ve been given some strict conditions by Police and Licensing Authorities. A big one is absolutely no BYO at the festivals. Police have made it clear that this is a strong focus for them and we need to toe the line. We’ll be doing thorough vehicle searches to look for BYO. We’ve been told that this year we need to refund tickets to all patrons in any car has BYO booze on board. Even if it’s just one person who’s done the wrong thing, unfortunately, the whole car is going home! You do not want that and neither do we! ................................................................ TICKETS & WRISTBANDS Double check that you’ve printed and packed your tickets before leaving home, we will be scanning all on arrival. Please hold on to your ticket until you’ve exchanged it at one of our wristbanding points with your ID. If you’re under 18 years of age and you’re attending Marion Bay make sure you have your consent form with you, all filled out. Keep your arm candy on you at all times, there will be zero replacements and anyone found without a wristband will be ejected from the festival site. NO TRESPASSERS Any car found harbouring trespassers will be immediately ejected as will all other passengers in that same vehicle. Anyone found entering the festival grounds without a valid ticket or wristband will be handed over to the police and escorted from the festival site and prosecuted. You cannot enter the main arena without a valid wristband. ................................................................ CAR PASSES ON SALE NOW If you’re driving to Lorne or Byron you will need to pre-purchase a Car Pass, this system reduces the cars on the roads and onsite – creating more space and encouraging carpooling. Figure out the day you’ll be arriving and lock it in. Remember, if camping and you arrive with 3 or more people in your vehicle, you’ll receive a refund! If you are purchasing a day carpark pass, 4 in the car and you get your money back! PACK FOR ALL OCCASIONS Make sure you bring plenty of warm clothes and bedding for the nights, waterproof gear, closed toe shoes, sunsmart clothes, sunscreen, hats, water bottles, torches, ca$h, towels, insect repellent, tickets, ID, food (so long as it’s not in a glass container), pillows, swim suit and car phone chargers. ................................................................ LEAVE AT HOME We do not allow any of the following items onsite, staff, police and security will be searching for the following items and harsh penalties (including immediate ejection) will apply: glass, byo alcohol, drugs, sound systems, pets, couches, large furniture or port-a-loos, weapons, bean bags, lasers, umbrellas, fireworks, gas bottles, sparklers and professional cameras. ................................................................ MAPS & DIRECTIONS Make sure you follow the directions and instructions on your Car Passes. If you’re driving to Marion Bay there is only one entrance route which makes it nice and easy, please drive carefully and take your time. Here are the Lorne, Marion Bay and Byron event maps, get you bearings before you take off. ................................................................ TOTAL FIRE BAN Falls is a Total Fire Ban event; this includes fireworks, flares, sparklers and all cooking facilities. It has been really dry in all of our locations this year. If you have a gas bottle attached to your camper please remove it. Large fines of up to $2,000 will be issued to those that don’t follow this rule. Bring eskie food, our top picks are: cereal, milk, bread, salads, tomatoes, fruit, cold meats, deli items, fruit, cheese, dips, biscuits, chips, nuts and lollies. ................................................................ MEDICAL AVAILABILITY ONSITE We have Medical Centres and First Aid located in the main area of each event. If you or your friend are in need of any medical assistance whilst at Falls please visit our staff who are there to help you. They won’t judge or report you – they just want to know you’re safe. If you have any specific medications please ensure you bring them with you. If you need any help storing these, please check them in with our medical staff onsite. ................................................................ POLICE ONSITE As Falls is much like a small town, we have police onsite patrolling the main festival areas and the campgrounds. Sniffer dogs are also likely to be in attendance at the festivals. Random breath and saliva testing units will be located on roads exiting each site so please take advantage of the free breath testing facilities available to you before you jump behind the wheel. Due to incidents at other events over the past year, we can expect an increased police presence. ................................................................ CHECK YOUR CAMPING EQUIPMENT Before you leave make sure you take out your tent, check it’s in working order and that all of the pegs and ropes are still there. If you do need any extra supplies whilst onsite we will have a General Store that will be well stocked with everything you’ll need, from camping supplies to drinks and snacks. ................................................................ RESPECT OUR NEIGHBOURS Residents live in the areas leading to our great festival locations all year ‘round, please respect the roads, clean up your rubbish and look out for wildlife and local forest areas. You cannot camp on roadsides or private/protected areas before or after the event; plan your accommodation, as rangers will be patrolling the areas. ................................................................ MARION BAY, SMOKE FREE EVENT Due to changes in the Tasmanian health legislations, Marion Bay will have designated smoking areas in the main festival areas and no tobacco products will be sold onsite. Please look out for these zones and follow all signage onsite. ................................................................ TAKE CARE OF THE FARM When you arrive onsite, look around. All of our festivals are held on stunning farms that are the home to animals and wildlife throughout the year. Keep your campsites clean, sort your waste and take all large camping items home with you. You have no idea how much we appreciate this. ................................................................ BIN TO WIN! On the last day of each festival we will be collecting full recyclable bags and camping equipment that you no longer want at designated points. For each bag or item you hand in you will go into the draw to win 2 x VIP passes to the 2016 Falls fest of your choice!
