THE FOUNDRY - RELAUNCH PARTY
THE FOUNDRY'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN THURSDAY AUGUST 20 + EXCITING NEW ADDITION
After a world of hurt, a massive setback and a huge construction job, it's back! (And it's downright time for a beer to celebrate) The Foundry returns, stronger and better than ever for a huge party on Thursday August 20. Media and industry will be invited to an exclusive re-launch party with just 100 tickets available to the public, on sale from today. The full line-up for the relaunch will be announced next week.
Forging a bold path in the heart of Fortitude Valley, The Foundry is a mammoth (now) three level complex that is part 300-person live room, part rock'n'roll bar, part collaborative space and home to a host of creative studios that are set to be the epicentre of the Brisbane live music community.
Briefly opening its doors earlier this year, Brisbane's only live music and industry hub ran into what can only be described as a rather large spot of bother with additional strucural works required to solidify the live room as one of Brisbane's best. Now, the soon-to-be iconic live space launches once again, this time with a major addition to The Foundry brand on street level, to be revealed in the coming days.
You could call it The Foundry 2.0. Let's jog your memory shall we?
The concept for a dedicated music industry and live space in Brisbane stems from the masterminds behind pioneering creative venues like Sydney's The Standard Bowl, Vic on the Park and Tokyo Sing Song. Designed and built by musicians with musicians in mind, The Foundry is a unique creative home for everyone from fans to bands to industry players, right in the epicentre of the growing South East Queensland music scene.
What sets The Foundry apart is its potential to unite the local industry as one giant powerhouse. What was previously an empty, ageing backpackers on the third floor has now been converted into a personalised, distinctly Brisbane space that serves the vibrant music and creative community like no other currently available in Australia. Supporting Brisbane's creative community takes precedence over profits with tentants paying rent for a music industry sized budget, provided with free-wifi and the freedom to deck out the studios as they please. Fresh street art now dons the hallways that lead to three shared meeting rooms, two rehearsal rooms, one recording studio and plenty of offices that are poised to be the central heartbeat for Brisbane's newest music and entertainment precinct. Plus, there's a dedicated room where up to eight touring band members can crash for the night for a pittence.
Central to The Foundry vision is the new and improved 300-person live room on the second level. Feeding from the industry hub upstairs, the live room is the centrepiece of this huge three storey venture. The space is a welcome addition to The Valley's live venue quota and will surely become a staple for any gig goer, showcasing the best in local and touring acts. The Foundry also continues its commitment to supporting Brisbane’s music scene by giving free use of a high quality backline. Punters can also shoot the shit in the beergarden or shoot some pool next to the rock'n'roll bar, plus there's a full tasty food menu available, courtesy of the kind kitchen staff at neighbouring Greaser.
Finally, on the ground floor, another offshoot of The Foundry brand will be ready to announce in the coming days. Stay tuned for the final piece of the puzzle.
