Brisbane band The Jungle Giants have announced details of their second album, and an accompanying national tour to bring its sweet goodness to our ears.
The sophmore album from the infectious indie-pop group will be released on Friday 7 August, following up their debut album in 2013, Learn To Exist.
The new album will be titled Speakerzoid, which is apparently "the result of misheard song lyrics courtesy of a friend of the band while they were enjoying the opening strains of Sonic Youth’s Teenage Riot."
As rumour has it, the band felt the made up word summed up the listening experience of their new album so much it became the album title.
The band recorded with Brisbane-based producer Magoo (not to be confused with the Magoo of Timbaland fame), who has previously worked with seminal Australian acts Powderfinger, Regurgitator, and Custard.
Recording near the state's border with New South Wales at the end of 2014, the band set out to create an innovative album with all the ellibuent joy of their debut.
Fellow Brisbanites Art of Sleeping and Wollongong surf-pop-party outfit and all-round cutie pies Hockey Dad will join the band as they frollick around the country in September and October on their national tour.
