Melbourne alt-rock band The Getaway Plan have announced a release date for their new album Dark Horses on July 3 this year, in addition to a massive extension of their existing national tour plans this year.
Dark Horses is their third LP and the first to be conceived, written and recorded entirely in Australia. The album was funded by the generosity of the band's famously dedicated fan base and arrives four years from their previous 2011 album Requiem.
As part of their newly extended national tour - the first leg of which runs from 15 May to 12 June - The Getaway Plan will be kicking off their second celebratory run of shows at Small Ballroom in Newcastle on Thursday, 3 September, taking in performances in Gosford, Sutherland, Wollongong, Sydney, Canberra, Alice Springs, Darwin, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Noosaville, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Tarwin Lower, Werribee, Chelsea Heights, Geelong, Launceston and Hallam, before rounding up at Commercial Hotel in South Morang on Saturday, 14 November.
