The Kite String Tangle
The Kite String Tangle and Dustin Tebbutt, two of Australia's brightest young artists, have joined together to collaborate on a brand new track. 'Illuminate' showcases the best of both of rising artists' talents - angelic vocals, sparkling production and lyrics that aim straight for the heart.
The Kite String Tangle, a.k.a. Danny Harley, has enjoyed a great run since the release of his breakthrough single 'Given The Chance'. Striking, delicate electro-pop tunes including 'Arcadia', 'Stone Cold' and 'What If' followed; sold-out headline shows and some killer festival appearances confirmed his popularity, as did an ARIA nomination and a spot in the Top 20 of the 2013 & 2014 Hottest 100. 'Dustin and I decided to work on a track together because for quite some time we'd had a mutual respect for each others music and had been to each others shows. It was a really natural process and that's been one of the most enjoyable things about this project; nothing felt forced and everything just came together. Dustin came to my little studio set up in Brisbane while he was on tour then I flew down to Sydney to finalize and mix the track in his studio space'.
Dustin Tebbutt, the author of the indelible, gorgeous debut single 'The Breach', was met with instant fans when he released his music for the first time. Hailing originally from Armidale NSW but finding his musical voice while living in Sweden, the singing/songwriting/producing triple threat won praise the world over (including an Unearthed J Award nomination), for his sophisticated production and sky-high falsetto. Dustin says:
'I originally wanted to work with Danny after hearing a radio interview he did. It was something in the tone of the conversation, and particularly the way he spoke about his approach to music. We went into the collab with no expectations at all. He had this great bed of synths and ambience sussed out, and from there; the vocal parts just seemed to flow. Danny was so easy to work with, and I felt like we naturally met halfway creatively throughout the process.'
'Illuminate' (single) will be available digitally on April 24, with a limited edition 10' vinyl EP, featuring two exclusive covers from Dustin and Danny, available on June 5, via Cool Accidents Singles Club.
