St Kilda Festival 2015 Full Program Announced
Having announced a promising first round lineup early last month, the organisers of St Kilda Festival 2015 have now unveiled their full program and it's absolutely jam packed, featuring an array of incredible local talent including The Church, Thundamentals, Hot Dub Time Machine, The Delta Riggs, DMA's, and more.
'The City of Port Phillip is proud to produce one of Melbourne's favourite annual events, and we welcome everyone to St Kilda to celebrate Australian live music, activities and community groups, our beaches and parks and of course our renowned restaurants, bars and cafes,' said City of Port Phillip Mayor, Cr Amanda Stevens.
'Live music has long been one of the many jewels in St Kilda's crown, and Council is proud to continue this tradition through the St Kilda Festival.' Meanwhile, Festival Producer Adele Denison says she couldn't be more excited to announce the world-class lineup that's set for the event's 35th annual Festival Sunday.
'We look forward to welcoming close to 400,000 people to St Kilda on Festival Sunday to experience performances from some of Australia's best emerging talent and favourite acts,' she said. 'The must-attend summer event offers more Australian musicians than any other Festival, and the line up for the 2015 is one of the best in the event's long history'.
Crashing this year's Main Stage will be Australian rock legends The Church, acclaimed singer-songwriter Shaun Kirk, Aussie hip-hop favourites Thundamentals, the time-travelling spectacle that is Hot Dub Time Machine, The Basics, who feature hit-maker Gotye on drums, veteran singer-songwriter Russel Morris, and more.
Meanwhile, the O'Donnell Gardens Stage will be brought to life with some of the finest young talent that Australia has to offer, including The Delta Riggs, who will soon be supporting Foo Fighters on their Australian tour, Triple J Award winner Remi, Sydney it-band DMA's, and J Award nominee Japanese Wallpaper.
Over at the Alfred Square Stage, punters will be treated to performances from blues rockers Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, singer-songwriter and Milk! Records founder Jen Cloher, acclaimed fusion ensemble The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, and talented up-and-coming duo Pierce Brothers.
