Announces Laneway Festival Sideshows - January/ February 2015.
Possibly the most charismatic live performer on the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival line-up (ever?) Mac Demarco (real name, Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV) has a penchant for cheeky lyrics and a gap-toothed smile. After a succession of playful, buzzy albums, Canada's most charming wild child released his third record Salad Days, which took a more serious turn despite plenty of oddball jams.
The last time Mac & co toured Australia, the boots were held high and the vibe was infectious. After selling out Australian venues on his run of Meredith sideshows last year, Mac is now set to play his biggest ever headline shows here, at the Metro Theatre in Sydney and Hi-Fi in Melbourne. If we're lucky we might even see a guest appearance from official Laneway Festival MC Agnes DeMarco (Mac's mum).
