The Presets announce their long-awaited return to Australian stages with their first national tour since 2009.
Having headlined Parklife Festival earlier this year, The Presets have now selected a special run of venues that allow their audiences to get reacquainted, up close and intimate.
The new show covers all of the key moments from their new album Pacifica, while also taking in many highlights from Beams and Apocalypso, interpreting many older tracks with bold, exciting and infectious reworkings.
It's well known that The Presets live experience is a force to be reckoned with. Across the last decade the band has brought their explosive show to countless stages and festivals in over 30 countries. This year the band was voted by their industry peers as Best Live Act at the 2012 In The Mix Awards who decreed "It's been four years between album releases, but Kim and Julian prove they are a major drawcard and that they can rock a stage, being of the first local acts to ever headline a Parklife line-up."
Pacifica, the first album from The Presets in four years, is their most critically acclaimed to date, also earning a J Award nomination and a shortlist entrant in the AMP Awards. Featuring ten prismatic, synth-laced songs, Pacifica boldly ventures into new, uncharted musical territories. Traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion, the album was produced by the band and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.
As many would know, The Presets captured the world's imagination with their blitzkrieg of an album, the sophomore Apocalypso. Spawning five hit singles and exceeding Triple Platinum sales in Australia, Apocalypso set dizzying new heights for dance music in Australia. The single My People stayed in the ARIA charts for over 75 weeks, making it the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history.
The Presets will be joined nationally by local dance luminaries Parachute Youth and Light Year.
