The Jagermeister Independent Music Awards were held tonight, with The Jezabels confirming their status as the nation's favourite new band. There were also wins for Adalita (Best Album) and Emma Louise (Breakthrough Artist).
Held at the relatively new creative space Revolt in Melbourne, organisers had told Your Daily SPA previously they wanted to create a more intimate vibe, with more respect to the awards and their recipients.
One of those recipients turned out to be The Jezabels, who were the night's biggest success with Artist and Single/EP honours. Album went to favourite Adalita and her honest solo record, Adalita.
The Dance/Electronica/Club Single category couldn't be split, with Seekae's Blood Bank and Tommy Trash & Tom Piper's All My Friends Featuring Mr. Wilson polling the exact same number of votes.
Melbourne minimalists and musician's band My Disco were granted the Hard Rock and Punk category title, with Little Joy pipping more traditional heavy albums. Drapht was also recognised for his chart-topping release The Life Of Riley with the Hip Hop/Urban award, whilst the strength of that scene was emphasised with 360's peoples' choice win.
