THE Q150 SHED IS HEADING TO BRISBANE AND THE GOLD COAST Queensland’s newest live entertainment venue, the Q150 Shed, is coming to Musgrave Park from Wednesday 2 to Thursday 4 December and Evandale Park, Bundall from Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 December. Presented by Bank of Queensland, the Q150 Shed is based on the typical Australian shearing shed, and it’s giving Queenslanders the opportunity to enjoy our 150th birthday celebrations right in their own backyard. Multi-award winning songbird Katy Steele and blues and roots ARIA award winners The Audreys are the special guests headlining the Q150 Shed’s stint in Brisbane, with The Audreys returning for one special night on the Gold Coast. Local dance success story Raw Dance Company will tear up the floor with their specially commissioned show Raw Metal, showcasing some of the most memorable moments of Queensland’s 150 year history, combining explosive rhythms, acrobatics and good old fashioned high energy dance. Flying the flag for the Brisbands will be rock outfit Daisie May, alt-pop / new disco 5 piece Starscream 13, world fusion favourites Mzaza, indie outfit Tin Can Radio and avant-pop Triple J Unearthed alumnae Skinny Jean. On the Gold Coast, a host of other artists will also entertain each day and night the Shed is in town, including singer-songwriters Ryan Murphy and Timothy Carroll, pop quartet Autumn Sun, organic roots band The Twine, high energy gypsy band Lola Lovina, and the Hope Island Harmonists. There are free dance workshops at 3.30pm each day with urban dance company Raw Dance Company, Bank of Queensland will be hosting ‘Funny’ Money workshops for kids, and the ‘where we from’ banners exhibition, a visual arts display depicting the Indigenous relationships between land, identity and culture will be on display for all to enjoy.
