Widely heralded as one of the defining indie acts of the decade, Austin’s …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, often abbreviated to Trail Of Dead, or  AYWKUBTTOD for short, are bringing their their terrifying, anarchic live show to Australia this May, courtesy of Civil Society! Famed for their incendiary, abrasive yet literate rock, the six piece will deliver their driving guitars and relentless percussion to hungry fans in Brisbane, Sydney,and Melbourne!

Fronted by the duo of Conrad Keely and Jason Reece – who rotate duties on vocals, drums and guitar – Trail Of Dead have achieved overwhelming acclaim and developed a vast fanbase in their 15 years of existence. Since their formation in 1994, the group have released five albums on labels including Merge (The Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel, Dinosaur Jr) and Interscope. This includes the 2002 classic ‘Source Codes & Tags’, which famously scored a rare 10/10 on Pitchfork, earning the description: “dense, beautiful, intricate, haunting, explosive, and dangerous, this is everything rock music aspires to be.”

Set to release their sixth album ‘The Century Of Self’ on Justice Records through Inertia in May 2009, Trail Of Dead will give Australians a taste of things to come when they bring their chaotic live set to our shores. With their purposefully over-the-top mixture of punk, goth, thrash, and Sonic Youth-style avant rock, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead manage to sound jarring and subversive, while epically beautiful and stylistically ingenous, all at once. With the countdown to the highly-anticipated release of ‘The Century Of Self’ truly underway, their forthcoming East Coast tour will be absolutely unmissable.
