Dukes of Windsor found their first incarnation when Jack Weaving (vocals) and Cory Blight (drums/engineer/producer) spent several months writing songs in 2005. They soon enlisted Scott Targett (keyboard), Oscar Dawson (guitar), Joe Franklin (bass), and Dukes of Windsor were born.
The band has just returned from Sweden where they recorded their second album at former lunatic asylum Tonteknik Studios with hardcore legends Pelle Henriccson and Eskil Lovstrom (Refused "The Shape of Punk to Come"). After the success of their singles The Others, It's A War, and Get It, Dukes Of Windsor will be getting back in the van in 2009 for a national tour to support upcoming single Runaway. Taken from the Dukes’ major label debut Minus, Runaway reflects a sense of escapism, set amongst flowing synth textures, punchy bass-lines, an insistent rhythm and infectious, soaring choruses. Hitting the road this March, the Dukes are taking Western Australian rockers The Dirty Secrets on the road with them. GET A TICKET (or a few) HERE AND NOW! |
