Cold War Kids will return to Australia for a National tour in February 2009. Nathan Willet (lead vocals, piano, guitar), Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals, percussion), Matt Maust (Bass Guitar) and Matt Averio (Drums) formed in 2004 and released their debut album Robbers and Cowards in 2006.

The Album won Australian fans & Radio over with singles such as “Hang Me out to Dry” and “Hospital Beds”. With multiple songs in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and sell-out tours in Australia (including Splendour in the Grass) and across the world, Cold War Kids released sophomore album Loyalty to Loyalty in 2008. It became the groups first Australian top 20 album and featured singles “Something is Not Right with me” and “Mexican Dogs” which both received high rotation on Triple J.

Their music is said to be heavily inspired by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan and Velvet Underground. Having established a global audience through limited edition CD’s, blistering live shows and word of mouth, Cold War Kids’ old-school approach fosters a growing artistic community that reaches well beyond their music. Gallery shows, artistic web design, and design books complement all their releases. Cold War Kids present themselves not just as musicians, but as an expanding artistic community that they want you to be a part of!
