ST JEROME'S LANEWAY FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2008 LINE UP, NEW SITE IN ADELAIDE AND EXPANSIONS TO MELBOURNE AND BRISBANE!

Let Australia's most unique traveling street party be unveiled... ST JEROME'S LANEWAY FESTIVAL is coming to an alley near you.

In the four dynamic years of its existence, the ST JEROME'S LANEWAY FESTIVAL has established itself as the festival of choice for indie music fans Australia wide. Its rapid expansion from a humble alleyway in Melbourne to inner city spaces in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and, for the first time in 2008, Adelaide, proves that with a little imagination there is room for a unique event that stands out from the crowd.

Laneway has become synonymous for cutting edge line ups, inventive re-imaginings of typically disused urban spaces and an environment that celebrates music without the huge crowds.

THE LOCATIONS

The Melbourne Laneway Festival is set to take a major and very organic expansion. The event has been given the green light to link the street party onto Lonsdale St, paving its way onto Drewey Lane and tunneling into a hidden bunker underneath a department building; while retaining its original locales in Caledonian Lane and the Lounge. The main stage will be built underneath the overhead walkway between the Myer and Melbourne Central buildings on Lonsdale St, ensuring more space and areas to noodle.

The festival returns to its original locales in Sydney (Circular Quay hideaway) and Brisbane (Winn St and surrounding car parks where a third stage will be erected). Fowler’s Live North Terrace in Adelaide plays host to the event for the first time in 2008.
